Let’s face it — it’s not easy to capture a lifetime’s worth of knowledge, experiences and lessons on a website. We all have too many nuances—too many subtleties—that won’t make the cut in this format. And that’s precisely why I love the quote above. In eight words, it effectively summarizes the belief that has carried me my entire life. My name is Dharma Pachner, I am a relentless creative, and it is my dream and mission to leave a positive and lasting mark in this world.

For as long as I can remember, I have been challenging conventions and exploring the undiscovered. I stumbled into this industry two decades ago as a somewhat fresh-faced young designer, and have continued to invent—and reinvent—myself every day since. In the span of my 20-year career, I have been a designer and a developer, an information architect and user experience lead, and the Vice President + Creative Director for three of the leading brand and digital agencies in DC. I have led hundreds of projects, designed numerous physical and digital experiences, and inspired countless others along the way. But my best days still lie ahead.  

So why me? Fair question. I imagine you are considering numerous agencies, a few no doubt larger than myself. But I bring an optimism and an energy to the table that simply will not be replicated. I believe in the power of design thinking and its unparalleled ability to transform this world into a brighter place. It is my passion to create possibility, and I will refuse to accept reality as a limitation. This industry will always be filled with constraints, and it is tempting to succumb to them. But real opportunity usually lies deeply buried within the insurmountable, and that is exactly the space you will find me exploring.
